Help the new old computer
Not to long ago in real time (but not computer/internet time) I purchased a new computer. Everything was buzzing along with the new machine for several months. But slowly things started to change. My new super fast computer no longer seemed to have changed into some 486 lead weight. I started to wonder why is my computer so slow ?
Well after looking at everything that has happened over the past few months it looks like loading up every piece of software that someone wants to lend you might not be the best thing for your computer performance. All those programs take up hard drive space and most importantly they load bits and pieces of computer code into your start up process.
One the quickest slow computer fix that the average user can perform is to delete anything that you are not using. Also when you delete those programs you should make sure everything that was installed with the program disappears at the same time. Small things get installed in the registry when you use Windows to run your computer and they should also be deleted if you are no longer using the programs associated with the small bits of code in the registry.
So that was part of my solution to the question of why my computer is slow. I also made sure the kids no longer had free range access to the machine so they could not keep downloading ever piece of free software that they found on the internet.

Downhill tech support
I recently had an internet tech support guy show up at my place to help solve my slow internet connection. Using some free internet speed check service I realized that my service was way to slow so they sent someone over to help solve the problem.
Ok the guy was nice enough but here’s some things you do not want to hear from your onsite tech support guy.
Quote number one-I have only been on the job for two months so some of this stuff is new to me. Hey buddy not everyone owns a Dell.
Quote number two-Wow I never have seen that used as an internet speed checker. Funny but that is the site that your phone tech supports suggested that I use to confirm what my actually internet connections speed is.
At the end of the day, well actually half the day, the guy was able to solve the problem. He asked if another tech guy had visited recently. Well no. He honestly told me that another tech had switched some wires at the local connection box so my service went into another time zone.
